Description:  The Parliament Future Accommodation Strategy is 2 new buildings and associated infrastructure developed to house MPs and staff, ensuring we have a secure parliamentary precinct which reflects our nation’s heritage and culture, keeps people safe, and supports a climate-friendly Parliament. The buildings use innovative structural systems like timber braced frames, timber moment frames, and base isolation with supplementary damping, all while meeting very high seismic design criteria and a 6-star Green Star rating. The construction is well underway, and attendees will get a chance to see the timber superstructure partially constructed atop the base isolated podium, along with other construction progress.
